Spring colours as the campus blossoms

Spring has arrived and with it fragrant flowers and beautiful blooms! Located in Pokfulam, The University of Hong Kong’s campus is graced with a variety of trees and flowering plants, such as Azaleas, champion tree Sweet Gum, Flame of the Forest and King Palm in the Main Building, which have witnessed the passing of time at HKU.

The Spring Semester is in full swing and our students can enjoy the picturesque scenery of their favourite campus spots!

Take a leisurely stroll around HKU and you will see these colourful blossoms in the midst of our campus from the venerated Main Building to the cutting-edge Centennial Campus.

The blooming Azaleas are an interesting feature not commonly associated to life in the bustling metropolis of Hong Kong!
A Night at the Museum of Art with Andy Warhol

What happens when you lock up hundreds of high school students in an art museum at night? A unique adventure of discovery! The innovative programme co-organised by The University of Hong Kong and the Hong Kong Museum of Art (HKMA), entitled “A Night at the Museum of Art with Andy Warhol” was held on the 22nd of February and the 8th of March. The students were given the opportunity to explore creativity and pop art, media and technology, culture and society.
As part of the celebration of HKU’s Centenary and the HKMA’s 50th Anniversary, the Museum of Art opened up its doors for the first time at night to some 600 secondary school students from 56 local schools. Not only was the “Andy Warhol: 15 Minutes Eternal” exhibition opened for the excited youth, but also various Andy Warhol themed lectures, movies, music performances and workshops. Throughout the evening the students learned more about silk screening, media, photography, fashion, science and cinematography, from renowned professionals. Students were able to gain an unparalleled learning experience and a night they would always remember!
