About the Programme
Peking University will organize this program scheduled for March 4 - 11, 2018. Please refer to the Appendix A for more information. The itinerary is subject to final decisions of the host institution.
The first series of forums was successfully held in Beijing and Hong Kong last year. To further promote academic exchanges and interaction between PKU and HKU, the second series of forums will firstly be held in March, covering various research topics and site visits in Beijing and Shandong.
Eligibility
- All local full-time HKU undergraduate and postgraduate students are eligible to apply.
- Applicants are expected to have good course record and deep understanding on Hong Kong and mainland China.
- Applicants should possess valid travelling document and/or entry permit for entering Mainland China.
- Applicants should be able to write, read and communicate in Putonghua as the programme activities will be conducted exclusively in Putonghua.
- Successful applicant is expected to be outgoing and easily communicable.
Requirement
Participants should guarantee full participation in the Programme, and are required to submit the following documents to China Affairs Office within 10 days after the completion of the programme:
- Experience sharing (300 words in English and 300 words in Chinese) and Survey
- 5 photographs taken during the participation of the programme
(*Creative sharing and photos will be used in the University publication or website for promotion).

Programme Fee
- As the programme is sponsored by HKU “China 1,000 Exchange Programme”, programme fee, local accommodation, local and cross-town transportation expenses and visiting fees are covered and to be provided by the host institution.
- Participants are responsible for other expenses, including but not limited to the transportation from Hong Kong to Beijing and from Qingdao to Hong Kong, travel insurance, souvenirs, and meals.
- HKU will provide basic overseas travel insurance to participants who are successfully nominated by China Affairs Office. Participants are strongly recommended to make extra travel insurance arrangement according to individual needs, especially for those who wish to advance or extend their stay in the destination(s). For the university coverage, please refer to the policy for undergraduates and postgraduates provided by Finance and Enterprise Office for reference.
