Introducing: HKU Room to Read’s Beers for Books (Drinking for Charity? Sign me up!)
At the beginning of this month, HKU Room to Read hosted a Beers for Books event. What exactly is HKU Room to Read and Beers for Books you say? HKU Room to Read (HKU R2R) is a newly established University Ambassador initiative at The University of Hong Kong with the Hong Kong Chapter of Room to Read (R2R). R2R is a non-profit organization dedicated to improving literacy and gender equality in education in low-income countries. As a university initiative, HKU R2R works with other volunteer student ambassadors to raise awareness of R2R’s work through events and projects in collaboration with partners on campus. They are passionate students who want to make a difference through creating events and fundraisers to ultimately raise awareness, building a strong and supportive community in HKU and raising funds for R2R. Help provide them with the reading and writing skills needed to unlock their potential. Help unlock the world’s potential.
