SESAME: Playing With Kids from Ethnic Minorities (My First 120 Days at HKU)

SESAME is a society that focuses on spending time teaching and playing children from South Asian ethnic minorities in Hong Kong. I find this society interesting because we get to enjoy moments learning (and playing with) from our Southern Asian kids in Hong Kong in the society.

Some ethnic minority kids contact us the night before our events, and share their excitement with us. Some HKU participants have also shared with us that when the kids greet them in Chinese and talk to them after events, they feel like they’ve become real friends in life.

Located far from some of the districts that these children reside in, many will come to Yau Ma Tei just to join the society and  all of the positive feedback we have received has given us much power and confidence to do better for SESAME, and for the children we spend time with.
